slowing down

Sadly, I just haven't had much time to blog as much as I'd like to. I will continue to try but I think I may have to stop for a while. I will be starting school next week so that will be my new venture for now! Thanks so much for reading!

in response...

In the last few days, I have gotten asked a couple of questions. I hope that these will serve as answers!

FIDM
If I had to choose again where to go after high school, I would still make the same choice. I would still get my BA in American Studies at Cal State Fullerton, and then probably go to FIDM. That's just me but for those who know that they want to get into fashion straight out of high school then I would highly recommend applying. They set you up to succeed, and if you don't it's no one's fault but your own. I believe that you have to utilize all the resources of the school to get the most out of the experience--esp since it's a lot of money.

PAUL FRANK WAREHOUSE SALE
Unfortunately, they usually only have them once a year around this time.

dr. fosters & smith

Who could resist this face?!

I recently came across this website while comparing prices for flea medicine. It's called Dr. Fosters & Smith. I got a pretty good deal there in addition to using a online code. Flea medicine can be pretty pricey so it was nice to score a deal. I also appreciate the testimonials by buyers and recommendations by the doctors regarding the products. It helps in choosing the appropriate product for your pet.

puka bar update

The Puka Bar last night was loads of fun! It was nice to catch up with people that I hadn't seen in awhile. FYI, the Puka Bar has drink specials every Tuesday...$2 Pabst Blue Ribbon and $2 Well. Please join us if you can next Tuesday!

desperado

This roller coaster made my knees buckle when I got off it. Literally, I almost fell on my face when I stepped off the ride because it terrified me so much. The Desperado roller coaster is one of the tallest and fastest in the world! It resides at Buffalo Bill's at the state line between California and Nevada. Sadly, this picture doesn't even do it justice--the drop continues into the ground. So...if you are planning a visit to Vegas soon and love scary roller coasters, stop at state line and ride Desperado.

puka bar

Please come by and check out The Puka Bar in Long Beach, especially Tuesday nights (I know the people spinning)! As if you couldn't tell already, the bar is Tiki themed but in a good way. I really like the simple yet striking Hawaiian decor. The Puka Bar serves tiki themed drinks and beer on tap in addition to a full bar. Most nights there is a DJ spinning some good tunes. See their calendar for further details.

This drink looks so cool!

Smee.tv is releasing a Shag documentary in a couple of months! It should be pretty interesting. I love his work!

bitten

Bitten is the new line that Sarah Jessica Parker just launched. Over the weekend, I went to Steve and Barry's (at the Buena Park Mall) to check it out.

First, let me say, that Steve and Barry's is an odd place. They sell clothes, shoes, and accessories for SUPER cheap but with sort of an athletic theme. So as you can imagine, this line was out of place there. As for the line itself, I like it. It's simple, basic, and cute. I feel that with Forever 21 and H&M becoming more popular and huge their prices have risen a bit. Bitten is priced so reasonably, and the quality is quite decent. I got a dress, tee, and earrings for around $30!

downtown disney

I love Downtown Disney in the summer! I think you can make each experience as thrifty or exuberant as you want. There are loads of restaurants, bars, shops, and even an AMC theater (which validates parking.) Sometimes, my husband and I will play chess or checkers accompanied by a bottle of wine at The Hearthstone Lounge inside The Grand Californian Hotel, or I'll have lunch with a gal pal at La Brea Bakery or The Uva Bar. I like to visit the Sephora and Illuminations there occasionally as well. Downtown Disney also has local bands play in the warm, summer evenings. They're usually too bubble gum for my taste but it's fun nonetheless. Please see their webpage for a full listing of shops, restaurants, and events.

Have a warm weekend everyone!
